Amazon Web Services to Acquire Elemental, Streaming Video Startup

Amazon Web Services, Inc. announced that Amazon has agreed to acquire Elemental Technologies, Inc., pioneers in software-defined video solutions for multiscreen content delivery.

Post acquisition, Elemental will continue to operate its business under its existing brand, delivering the full range of solutions required by customers.


Amazon did not disclose how much it’s paying for the acquisition. As per the company, acquisition is expected to close in the fourth quarter of the year 2015.

Elemental Technologies is founded in the year 2006 and headquartered in Portland, Oregon. Customers use Elemental’s software to process and deliver video streams that are customized for a wide variety of different formats, displays, devices, data rates, and environments.
