Social networking site Facebook has announced that it has distributed benefits worth more than US$ 50 million to startups in Asia Pacific region through FbStart.
Out of US$ 50 million, more than US$20 million went to startups in India.
Company has also announced that in this week they will be bringing FbStart to developers in Bangalore and Gurgaon with full-day events dedicated to helping them grow their businesses.
FbStart is a program launched by Facebook in the year 2014. It’s designed to help early stage mobile startups build and grow their apps. In Fbstart, the company met with program members and local developers.
In the first year, FbStart distributed benefits worth more than US$ 100 million to more than 3,800 startups.
As per the company, more than 70 percent of Facebook developers are located outside the U.S. More than 75 percent of top-grossing apps in India are integrated with Facebook.
FbStart offers various tracks like Pre-launch, Bootstrap, Accelerate and additional benefit packages like internet.org and Games. Developers are to be placed into the track. After getting accepted, developers will receive benefits from facebook.
