Bangalore based mobile ad network AdIQuity has now been acquired by online e-commerce company Flipkart for an undisclosed amount. AdIQuity, a Sequoia Capital-backed startup, is owned and operated by AdIQuity Technologies Private limited.
This is the first acquisition for Flipkart in the year 2015. Earlier to this acquisition, Flipkart acquired online fashion e-commerce portal Myntra, electronics etailer LetsBuy and mobile payment solutions firm ngpay.
AdIQuity is founded by Anurag Dod, IIT Delhi alumnus. After few years of experience at MNCs in the US, Anurag decided to turn his entrepreneurial dream into reality and moved to India, and in a brief time span his vision and foresight made AdIQuity a well known mobile ad platform in the mobile ecosystem. Started in 2006 as a search engine, Guruji.com, AdIquity has raised USD 15 million so far from Sequoia Capital and Sandstone Capital.
AdIQuity enables mobile application developers and publishers to earn money by leveraging their mobile inventory. At the same time it helps advertisers in getting mobile traffic.
AdIQuity has features like geo-locale targeting and engagement with user behaviour tracking. Its AppNow product will allow converting WAP site in to an Android app with just one click for free.
Currently AdIQuity serves 25 billion Ad Impressions per month for more than 200 countries and has over 15000 App developers and publishers. Currently it’s holding offices in 6 locations including Singapore, Jakarta and Kuala Lumpur. They have advertisers like airtel, flipkart, makemytrip, cleartrip, Samsung, Toyota, Hindustan unilver limited, google, Microsoft and yahoo.
