HUL announced its results for the third quarter ending 31st December 2014 on 19th January 2015. Net Sales grew by 7.7% to Rs 7774 Crores during the third quarter ending 31st December 2014 with Domestic Consumer Business (FMCG + Water) growing by 7.6% compared to Rs 7223 Crores of third quarter ending 31st December 2013.
HUL Net Profit for the quarter ending 31st December 2014 is at Rs 1252 crore compared to Rs 988 Crores in last quarter of 2014 and Rs 1062 crore for Q3 FY2014. Net Profit has increased by 17.9 percentage Year-on-Year.
Net Profit for this quarter has increased due to profit on sale of land for Rs 407.29 crores and restructuring expenses of Rs 10.71 Crores.
Other income of HUL dropped to Rs 120.07 Crores from Rs. 142.66 crores during the same period last year.
Profit after tax from ordinary activities before Exceptional Items net of tax and prior period tax adjustments for this quarter is at Rs 955 crores.
HUL Operating Profit (Profit from Operations before Other Income, Finance costs and Exceptional Items) for the quarter at Rs.125, 8 Crores, grew by 8.3%.
EPS for the quarter is at 5.79 compare to 4.91 of quarter ending 31st December 2013 and 4.57 of quarter ending 30th September 2014.
During Q3 FY2015, soap and detergent segment of HUL has contributed Rs 3600 crores compare to Rs 3398 crores of same period last fiscal year. Similarly, profit before tax and interest for soaps and detergents segment has gone up to Rs 502 Crores compared to 451 crores of same period last fiscal year. Soaps and detergent segment’s growth was mostly driven by Lifebuoy, Lux,Vim and Surf.
Similarly, Fair and Lovely, Pond’s and Lakme in personal products, Bru in coffee have shown double digit growth during this quarter for HUL.
