Indian Railway launched a customer complaint web portal and mobile application for passengers to lodge complaints against problems.
A passenger can register complaint either by using the free mobile application or through customer complaint web portal or by sending SMS.
If you have chosen the web application and/or SMS to register your complains then you will be assigned with a unique ID number to track the progress of complaints.
Complaint raised will be automatically assigned to concerned railway functionary for redressal.
The best part is passengers can register their complaint in every possible category like Allotment of seats, bedroll complaint, bribery and corruption, catering and vending service, cleanliness at station, complaints related to sleeper class, passenger bookings, refund of tickets, unauthorized passengers in coaches and non availability of water.
Similar options are also available on the mobile application. Both mobile application and web portal have option to add photos and file to validate your complaint.
Like we said before the passengers can also SMS their complaints on mobile number +91-9717630982.
To register complaint by using a mobile application, passengers can download Indian Railway’s official mobile application from Google Play Store. At present it’s available only for Android OS. We hope similar mobile application for iOS and windows will be launched soon.
Speaking on the occasion the Railway Minister, Suresh Prabhu, said that this ‘Customer Complaint-cum-Suggestion’ portal and mobile App which can be freely downloaded, will be very useful as one can track the status of the complaints which he or she registered on this portal with the help of mobile App. He said that Railways welcome suggestions from the people to further improve the passenger services and valuable suggestions on this newly launched portal can be incorporated in all possible ways, if found suitable. He appreciated the efforts made by Railway officials and thanked them for implementing this new customer friendly initiative in a very short time, just three days after the announcement of the same in the Railway Budget 2015-16.
