Pepsi IPL Player Auction 2015-Yuvraj Singh emerged as the costliest player ever

Recent 2015 Pepsi IPL Player Auction has concluded, where 67 players were sold. Yuvraj Singh who last time played for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), has now been shelled out for Rs 16 crore to Delhi Daredevils.

Yuvraj Singh was available for a base price of Rs 2 crores after RCB released him. Royal Challengers Bangalore’s last bid for him was Rs 15.5 crore. RCB picked up Dinesh Karthik for Rs 10.5 crore.

In 2014 IPL Player Auction, Yuvraj Singh was picked up by RCB for Rs 14 Crore and Dinesh Kartik was picked up by Delhi Daredevils for 12.5 crores. Like last time this time also in 2015 IPL Player auction both players hold the top two position of most expensive player.

Last time’s third most expensive player, Kevin Pietersen was picked up by Sunrisers Hyderabad at base price of 2 crore.

Out of the 349 players, a total of 67 players were sold in Monday’s Pepsi IPL auction ceremony held in Bengaluru, India. Out of 67 players, 24 were overseas players and 43 Indians.

A total of Rs 87.6 crore have been spent in IPL Player Auction 2015.

In unsold player lists we have players like Tillakaratne Dilshan (base price Rs 1.5 crore) Mahela Jayawardena (base price Rs 1 crore), Kumar Sangakkara (base price Rs 1 crore), David Hussey (base price Rs 1 crore), Ajantha Mendis (base price Rs 50 lakhs), Munaf Patel (base price Rs 50 lakhs), Lakshmipathy Balaji (base price Rs 50 lakhs) and RP Singh (base price Rs 30 lakhs).
