Philips has appointed former MD and CEO of HCL Infosystem as its new CEO of Philips Lighting solutions, South Asia with effect from January 1, 2015. Mr. Chitale has resigned from HCL infosystem on 8th December 2014 with effect from close of business hours on December 31, 2014.
Chitale, who joined as MD and CEO of HCL Infosystems in October 2010, had restructured the firm in a way that the distribution and services business were separated from each other.
Earlier, Harshavardhan Chitale was the VP and GM of Honeywell Process Solutions. Prior to that, from December 2004 to November 2006, Harsh worked as Managing Director Honeywell Automation India Ltd.(then, Tata Honeywell Ltd.). He also served as the CEO. Harsh served as Non-executive Vice Chairman and Director, Honeywell Automation India Ltd., till October 2008. Harsh left Honeywell in 2010 and moved back to India as the CEO of HCL Infosystems.
Mr Chitale will be based out of Gurgaon, India and will be responsible for driving and building the lighting solutions business for Philips in India.
Harshavardhan Chitale is a graduate in engineering from IIT, delhi and also received Director’s Gold Medal at IIT Delhi. After graduating from IIT Delhi in 1993, he started his career with Tata Group in Tata Administration services.
