Practo Acquires Genii, Targets Enterprise

Practo today announced acquisition of Mumbai based Genii. In July 2012, Practo raised INR 25 crores in Series A funding from Sequoia Capital.

In February 2015, Practo raised USD30 Million in funding from Sequoia Capital and Matrix Partners. Prior to this acquisition, in April 2015, Practo acquired Fitho Wellness.


Genii is a technology services firm focused on product design and development with clients including Axis Bank, Mediassist, Economic Times, HDFC RED and others.

After this acquisition the entire team including the founders will join Practo in Bangalore. As per Genii, they have at present 21 employees and more than 50 clients.

Practo founded in the year 2009 by Shashank ND and Abhinav Lal, both alumni of NIT Surathkal. By using Practo website or application you can search doctors and use its product to manage patients and digital health care records. Prato claims to have list of more than 8000 hospitals.
