Samsung launched its high end Smartphones Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge in India at a launch event in Delhi. Samsung Galaxy S6 will be available in three variants, the 32GB is priced at Rs 49,900, 64GB at Rs 55,900 and 128GB at Rs 61,900.
Galaxy S6 Edge has been priced at Rs 58,900, 64,900 and 70,900 for the 32GB, 64GB and 128GB variant, respectively in India.
Samsung has pulled out support of microSD card slot. This means no expandable storage for both handsets.
As per Samsung, customers can pre book either or both of the handset now but the shipment will start from 10th April onwards.
Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge
Both Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge features a 5.1 inch Quad HD (2560 x 1440) Super AMOLED display with 577ppi pixel density and uses Corning Gorilla Glass 4 for protection .
However, Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge comes with dual edge display where the phone’s edge lights up when someone calls you. It allows you to assign specific colour to various callers based on your requirement. Both have a metal frame and a glass body both on the front and back.
Both runs on the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop OS and are powered by 64-bit Octacore Processor which contain two quad-core processor clocked at 2.1 GHz and 1.5GHz respectively.
It comes with 3GB RAM, a 16 Mega Pixel rear camera and a 5 Mega Pixel front facing camera. Both rear and front facing camera employs the same f/1.9 lens.
In terms of connectivity, both support 4G LTE, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac (2.4/5GHz), HT80 MIMO(2×2) 620Mbps, Bluetooth v4.1, USB 2.0, NFC and an IR Remote.
The Galaxy S6 has a 2,550mAh battery, while the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge has a 2,600mAh battery. As per Samsung, it uses fast charging features with wireless charging capability which will let customers to charge for 10 minutes to get 4 hours of usage.
