Tencent Inc launches English version of Wechat for Windows

Tencent inc has released English version of Wechat for windows. As per the company, now WeChatters can enjoy a variety of features like file sharing capabilities, the handy screenshot tool and more.

With this web application, users can now instantly share their images and other documents with WeChatters straight from a desktop computer. Receiver can easily receive files on their mobile device or tuned in via the desktop program.


Scrrenshot tool is another feature of wechat through which user can capture and send an image of the screen with visual call-outs, using additional shapes and texts.

Wechat enabled the Message Recall feature on PC application as well. Only the most recent message sent within the last 2 minutes can be unsent.

Even after logging out of PC version, user can access or view their messages on phone.

After downloading, user’s PC will generate a QR code which needs to be scanned after logging in via Smartphone to pair it with web application.

Like Whatsapp, this application will also be mirroring all conversations and messages from its mobile app installed on your phone. This means, messages will continue to remain primarily on the user’s mobile phone. Users will only need to verify their login through a device thereafter or until the device has been unlinked.

One of its competitors, Whatsapp which has launched its web application for Google Crome in January 2015 has claimed to have over 500 million monthly active users globally.

Even Mac users can download the native Mac app and enjoy the desktop experience.

Tencent Inc was Founded in the year 1998. It has grown into one of China’s largest and most used Internet service portal. Tencent’s Internet platforms in China includes QQ (QQ Instant Messenger), WeChat, QQ.com, QQ Games, Qzone, 3g.QQ.com, SoSo, PaiPai and Tenpay.
