YouTube announced the launch of YouTube Gaming which as per the company will be bringing you closer to the games, gamers, and culture that matter to you.
Engineering Manager, Frank Petterson in a blog post said, “As promised, and after some excellent road-testing by thousands of dedicated gaming fans (thanks, folks!), YouTube Gaming is now available.”
Company has launched the English-language website (gaming.youtube.com) in countries where its available. This platform automatically pulls in all live streams and gaming related videos from YouTube.
The new website includes a directory of more than 25,000 games each with their own profile page collecting related YouTube videos.
For mobile devices, android and iOS app will be available for U.S. and U.K.. Company has confirmed that for other countries the app will be available soon.
Youtube has more than 1 billion users, localized in 75 countries and available in 61 languages.
This gaming platform will be competing with Amazon owned twitch.tv. Last year in august, Amazon.com Inc acquired live-streaming gaming network Twitch Interactive for about US$ 970 million in cash. This was largest deal in Amazon’s 20-year history.
